Feehan and Novak Spend Some One on One with Fans!

The river boat, the speakeasy and the incredible amount of books are just day one of the Feehan/Novak fan convention. I attended this last year and wondered how they would top that because it was amazing, but guess what? They have outdone themselves!

As readers came onto the Delta King river boat they were ushered to registration where they received eleven books, several gifts, a cool book bag and all the necessities for the weekend. While people were getting registered and settled in there was a reading going on in one of the meeting rooms. The lovely lady who was suppose to read excerpts from the author’s books couldn’t make it so I was asked if I could do the reading. I felt pretty confident I could read so of course I said “Yes!”.

Brian Feehan, who is witty, charming and very funny (not to mention extremely handsome!!!) teased me and asked if I was qualified for the job. I assured him that in 2nd grade Mrs. Shipman gave me a gold star for reading, which qualified me, so I got the job! LOL

I wasn’t sure how entertaining people would find being read to, but to my delight everyone really got into it! Funny how we never out-grow being read to.

After the reading everyone went to dress up for the speakeasy costume party where we would play Texas Hold ‘Em, spend quality time chatting with the authors and get to know each other better.

Walking into the room we were given another gift bag. This one had this cool hourglass in it that is so beautiful I plan on putting it up in my livingroom. It also had a beautifully designed tin, a cookie, chocolate (there MUST be chocolate of course! LOL) and a few other little items. Each day we get something new.

The costumes were beautiful! Everyone was laughing and chatting and having a wonderful time. There were quite a few first time attendees and I met Dawn from Texas and we became fast friends. Oh! And did I mention there are quite a few male fans in attendance this year too? I know I shouldn’t act shocked, but still….lol

Today I’m off to each brunch and play bingo before the author chat and the murder mystery theater! I won last year so watch out! LOL
