I was a Special Guest at San Diego Comic-Con last year, and had a blast. But, man, is it crowded! They get 140,000 people. Literary stuff is a small part of what's on offer -- you get the same-size crowd at a SDCC literary event as you do at a Worldcon literary event (and Worldcon -- the World Science Fiction Convention -- draws only 5,000 people or so).

I love Comic-Con, and am sad I won't be there this year (there will be a FlashForward panel, but I'm up in Saskatoon finishing off my residency at the Canadian Light Source synchrotron -- also way, way cool).

Not many food choices in the convention center, and all are overpriced. Bring a water bottle and some power bars to munch on. :)
