There Can Be Only One.

Hey China, following up on the music thread, how about we flip it around? What movie was okay to poor, but the music elevated it to a new level? I’m voting for the original Highlander with its Queen soundtrack.
I wanted so much more from the Highlander franchise. I enjoyed the TV show, but the movies have never done much for me, even though I wanted very badly to like them.

- Blind Guardian China, for music at cons, here are my picks. 1) Blind Guardian - the German metal band. They mix heavy and fast music with bombastic choruses that would remind you of Queen. Oh man! I loved the original Highlander! AT THE TIME! It doesn’t hold up now, and the sequels were generally garbage anyway. The series was pretty good, but if someone had seen it before seeing the first movie, I’m sure they’d wonder what the fuss was about.
But I agree that the soundtrack for the original movie was great.

Movies left me cold but for the tuneage, but the tv series was quite good and sometimes even excellent.

Danny Elfman’s music in Corpse Bride definitely elevated the movie for me. Not a bad film, mind you, but the music took it up a notch.

My vote goes to Flash Gordon, another lousy movie with a fun Queen soundtrack.
