Keep on Giving…
Hello All,
An update on my giving and a new post from Cami.
Day 9: I came across this on-line and loved the idea. I hope you’ll click the link below and join in. There is a young man in the UK with cystic fibrosis and he loves collecting key chains. Imagine the collection he’d have from around the world if we all sent one. I sent mine off. Will you?

Day 10: Occasionally at work we gather up books, music and cd’s to send overseas to our troops. I came across this site that offers another kind of giving. Send a free postcard to our troops showing them your support. Only takes a minute to make someones day!!

Day 11: As you can imagine I have a lot of books at home. I decided it was time to do a little early Spring cleaning (really to make room for new books LOL) so I decided I’d donate half of my books to our local library and the other half to a women’s shelter not far from my home. A book is always a nice place to escape to, a nice place to turn to when you need inspiration and it’s always there when you need it. It’s truly a gift that keeps on giving.
a post from author Cami Walker…
Giving to Yourself
I often receive messages and read blog posts that express some confusion about whether giving to ourselves is selfish, or if it counts as a part of our daily giving ritual. Mbali, the South African Medicine Woman who gave me the 29 Gifts prescription, advised us to begin a 29 day gift cycle to ourselves – to start each day with gratitude for what we have, as gratitude keeps the heart open, and then start the day with a gift to ourselves.
I myself have often fallen into a pattern of over-giving which leaves me feeling drained, angry and resentful—not the ideal energy to be giving from. So I decided to follow her wise advice and make a mindful effort to give something to myself each day. Giving to yourself not only ‘counts’ – it serves as a reminder that we ourselves are worthy of receiving, it increases our sense of abundance, it helps to open our hearts and rejuvenate our spirits.
Good giving today.
more to come on my giving. For any of you following along out there, how do you feel about giving so far? do you feel like it’s changed you in any way? has it inspired you to treat people differently?

Hello,
I just love the Border’s coupons, but lately have had problems printing them. They come out as 2 pages. I print at the library and my print pages are limited. I tried to edit and copy on word, but it would not allow it to print. In an effort to be green and save paper-thus saving the world, could whoever designs the coupons reduce the size and shape of the coupon to fit on one page or less?
Save the world one coupon at a time. Thanks for your concern for the world and it’s inhabitants. Borders is better than that other bookstore that starts with a ‘B’.
Hello,
I was sent the link to this blog by a great friend, I hope he considers it as one of his daily gifts. For quite some time I’ve been trying to figure out what I wanted to say. I really love the idea of the 29 gifts. I’ve not read the book, never even heard of it as I tend to be an escapist reader, but, the idea of creating posative energy around ourselves by helping others is something that strikes a chord with me (*cough* another successful gift from David!)
Now, I’m a stay at home mama. I’ve got two kids, both under the age of 4. I don’t really get out a lot, trips to the grocery store and park when the weather is nice I suppose, but thats about it really. I found myself wondering how I could build the posative stuff when I’m not around other people. *POOF!* it hits me, by being a stay at home mom, I am giving gifts every single day. I “give” of my heart and soul every day to my children. I listen to the gibberish and babble of my one year old son, and have “conversations” with him. I watch my 3 year old daughter jumping on her bed and oooooh and aaaah at the different types of jumps she can do, even if they are the same as the last 10 times I’ve watched! I read stories, lots of them. I am trying to help my kids grow to love themselves, have much confidence in themselves because they know they have an awesome cheering section at home.
These thoughts lead to my thinking of my own mom. How much she’s given to me and my three siblings, wonder at how much she’s done, awestruck at the amount of energy she’s given us. So, I make a promise to myself to try and call her more often and say thanks for everything.
Following through with the train of thought this blog started has also helped me try to give gifts to my husband more often. Nothing fancy, a smile, a hug, asking how his day was…and listening to the reply. Cooking his favorite foods more often, small things that are in my control (and price range LOL!).
So, all in all, I’d like to say a big thank you and send a big *hug* to David, for starting this, sending me the link and changing the way I thought of “just being a stay at home mama”
That’s really great.! very nice post and keep sharing like this kinda stuff.
Keep working ,excellent work!
Love the website, keep it coming!!!
Hiya - really beneficial web site you could have made. I enjoyed reading through this writing. I did wish to issue a comment to tell you that the design and style of this website is very aesthetically delightful. I used to be a graphic designer, today I am a copy editor in chief for a advertising corporation. I’ve always loved playing with information processing systems and am attempting to learn computer code throughout my own free time (which there is never enough of lol).
I just have to say, I enjoy reading your site. Maybe you could let me know how I can subscribing with it ? Also just thought I would tell you I found your page through google.
